Lifenotes #48: November 2024
Fun with friends 💛
✨ Highlights
- I went to Berlin for a weekend with my friend Mark. It was really fun to just mooch around, have nice food and hang out with him.
- I went to see Ezra Collective with my friends Nisha and Rachael. It was SO GOOD and we danced so much 💃
- I went to see A Raisin in the Sun with my friend Rachel. It was a really emotional play, I really enjoyed it.
- I went on a hidden London tour with some of my work friends, to the unused tube station The Strand. It was very, very cool, I’d recommend it.
- My friend Hayden came to visit and we went to Sheffield to unpack his house that he sold 📦
- The survey on the house that I’m buying came up with some damp problems 👎
- But I went to view a different house on a road that I really like and I’ve put an offer on it 🎉
🎮 Played/Read/Watched
- Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin: This was a really fun read about video games, friendship and love.
- Wings of desire: It was such a lovely experience to watch this at the Babylon Cinema in Berlin. It was a really cozy space and a really lovely film.
- Anora: I went to see this at the cinema with my friend Tom and it was a really fun watch.
- Intermezzo by Sally Rooney: I enjoyed this one, but not as much as her previous books.
- Unreal: This TV show is insane. All the characters are kinda horrible, but it is very, very watchable.
- We read the paper that forced Timnit Gebru out of Google. Here’s what it says. by Karen Hao
- Indika: This was okay. I enjoy a puzzle based game and the setting was cool. But it wasn’t amazing.
- Deathloop: This game was so much fun, so different to most games I’ve played before.
- Staff Engineer: Leadership beyond the management track by Will Larson
- A quiet place: day one: It was fine.
- Control: This game is so good. Such a good atmosphere, and very fun to play. And the visuals look incredible.
